The Role of Free Will and Choice

1 Corinthians 16:13, NIV: “Be on your guard; stand firm in the faith; be courageous; be strong.”

I am sitting here staring at this post begging God to put into words the impressions on my heart. Let’s talk about courage.

What does it take when we choose to engage in a better world? Some might say this is all in a day’s work. We should always remember that courageous people are and were ordinary human beings that made a choice.

The first step is to speak your truth. Your truth is just that, yours. There are just as many opinions in the world today as there are people. Defining your truth requires you to be honest with what drives you, what you believe, and what you fear. Everyone is scared of something.

The Bible abounds with stories of courage. Courage means to show oneself strong. Biblically speaking, we can only be courageous by having faith and confidence in the fact that God is with us and for us.

With the world turned upside down, people’s anxiety, hatred and anger running wild; going forward, we will all need courage. It begins with the first step.
