Food for Thought

Sunday Soul – Lutions

The sharpest weapon we have against anxiety, negativity and stress is our ability to choose one present thought over another. Right now, is an opportunity to invest in the little things that matter most.

The goal is to change your response to what you can’t control; to grow so strong on the inside that nothing on the outside can affect your inner wellness without your conscious permission. There is an important lesson here that is often glossed over. I read a bible verse early last week. John 14:27, “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.” God is not a God of confusion but a God of peace. Tough times don’t last.

I had heard a saying once tragedy should be used as a source of strength. I believe all of this is relevant to the times we are in for everyone. Remind yourself the mind is our biggest battleground. It is a place where the strongest conflicts reside. Covid-19 and all of the unrest in our country has been occupying so much of our present attention. We need now more than ever to keep ourselves in check.

Obviously, Covid-19 has been and is spreading rapidly around the world, and we are all facing a tough reality. We are occupying an uncertain moment in time on the cusp of seemingly historical events in more ways than one. His truth shines through it all. Our job should be to bring hope into chaos.
