Soul - Lutions

Time for Renewal, Transition and Change

Chasing Shadows

Soul – Lutions

Don’t allow your insecurities

As many as there are

To lower your standard

And not raise the bar

Imagine coming face to face

With someone just like you

Would you get mired down

And look for the good

Or just believe it can’t be true

Can you believe it yourself

Can you hold onto trust

Find strengths

And talents there

Or listen to the voice

In your head that

Echoes from your past

And tells you to walk away

Give up

Because you think you must

Or will you hold on

And watch

Your time tick by

It is the hardest thing

Required of us when

We are alone and cry

Don’t allow insecurities

As many as there are

To lower your standard and

Not raise the bar

We run from the past

As if it’s the only race

To stand steadfast

Or shadows we chase

Look forward to the future

It is so hard to face

We get caught up in the

I can’t

I shouldn’t

I won’t

Stuck in your mind

And so you just don’t

Raise the bar

Look out toward there

It’s where the journey will lead

If you listen to

The negative

The white noise

You will never go far

Don’t allow your insecurities

To lower your standard

And not raise the bar

Your past is your past

It certainly isn’t home

You don’t live there anymore

You should learn from it and grow

Most of us try

A lot of us half smile

Stay in the present

And linger awhile

The journey winds around

And we stop along the way

The truth is told

If you live for today

Raise the bar

Hold your head high

We will live and we will die

It’s the way it should be

It’s what is in between

What we do while we are here

That is the important part

Don’t get caught up in fear

If you do for a sec

Or longer than this

Exciting parts you will

Surely miss

This is easier said than done

I know it is true

But the peace and the positive

Begins with you
