If we could bend before we break
That would be easier to take
We fight so hard
And our battles rage on
We look around and
So much time is gone
If we could bend before we break

So many stories
So worn out
If we could just believe
Have faith
And no doubt
We could stand up tall
Or kneel down small
And whisper a prayer
If you just dare
If we could bend before we break
That would be easier to take
God has a plan
It’s bigger than us all
In the grand scheme of things
He has it covered
Even when we hurt so much
And lose our way
And can’t begin to see
The light of day
If we could just bend
How much happier we would be
If we could bend before we break
That would be easier to take
My prayer is that
We would all bend
Before we break
God doesn’t forsake
Together we could bring
Peace
To every corner of this
Earth
So tonight before you lay down your head
Maybe whisper this prayer
Instead
Please let me bend
Before I break
Give us all patience and peace
So that we may share
While we are here
And still aware…
